Description
On April 11, 1940, taking off from the carrier HMS Furious, a Fairey Mk.I Swordfish made the first coordinated torpedo attack in the history of naval warfare. Two days later, a Swordfish flying from HMS Warspite spotted and sunk the German submarine U-64, Britain Fleet Air Arm's first German U-boat sinking of World War II.
