Description
Renowned for his outstanding wildlife illustrations, Chuck Ripper developed a keen interest in art and nature as a young boy. Ripper's works have appeared in numerous magazines, books, and on stationery products. In addition, he has designed conservation stamps for the National Wildlife Federation. This prestigious organization awarded him the coveted Peregrine Award in 1989 for 30 years of dedicated service and for providing NWF with over 400 stamp paintings. The U.S. Postal Service commissioned Ripper to create several stamp issues, including Coral Reefs, Wildlife Habitats, Kitten and Puppy, and North American Wildlife. The latter comprised a sheet of 50 stamps that was voted the most popular issue of 1987.
