In late World War II, the U.S. Navy developed its first carrier jet fighter, the North American FJ-1 Fury. Redesigned with swept wings as the F-86 Sabre, this plane went on to become a highly-successful Navy carrier fighter and the world's most successful land-based fighter of the 1950s.
This painting was originally commissioned to illustrate the Republic of the Marshall Islands 33¢ FJ-1 Fury stamp issued February 10, 2000.
Please note the "Fine Art America" watermark will not appear on the painting or any print reproduction.
