Artist's Description
Introduced in 1957, the Grumman E-2A Hawkeye, with its distinctive rotating radar disc above the fuselage, could detect an enemy force over the horizon, then coordinate U.S. interceptor forces to eliminate the threat.
This painting was originally commissioned to illustrate the Republic of the Marshall Islands 33¢ E-2A Hawkeye stamp issued June 1, 1999.
