In October 1952, the Douglas A-3 Skywarrior made its first flight. Weighing 60,000 pounds, the U.S. Navy bomber was the largest and heaviest aircraft ever designed for carrier use. Skywarriors played key roles in many U.S. Navy attacks during the Vietnam War.
