Artist's Description
A very quick bomber, the B-58 Hustler was appropriately named. The first supersonic bomber, the B-58 was introduced in 1956 and proceeded to shatter many long held world speed records. Unfortunately, the plane was not cost effective and was phased out of service less than two decades after its introduction.
This painting was originally commissioned to illustrate the Republic of the Marshall Islands 32¢ B-58 Hustler stamp issued July 19, 1997.
