A collection of paintings by acclaimed Chinese artist Wan Weisheng, which were originally commissioned to appear on postage stamps and philatelic commemoratives. Born in 1932, Wan Weisheng graduated from Northeast Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Shenyang, in 1955. A member of China's Artists Association, Wan developed a distinctive style shown in his spectacular designs for various series of stamps. His designs include "Children's Life", "Mountaineering in China", "Agricultural Cooperation", "The Great Hall of the People", "Palace of Nationalities" and "Acrobatics". One of Wan's most intriguing designs, however, is his series of stamps depicting The Great Wall of China, featuring magnificent scenes of the Great Wall in the changing seasons.
